Kitchen & bath product marketers will have a unique opportunity in 2009 to participate as co-sponsors of a series of educational conferences aimed at increasing the design skills, showroom savvy, business knowledge and profitability of kitchen & bath dealers, designers, showroom personnel and related industry professionals.
Kitchen & Bath Design News’ 2009 conference program will once again bring KBDN “live” to major metropolitan markets through three separate all-day seminar programs, co-produced under the terms of exclusive partnerships between KBDN and both the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) and the SEN Design Group.
PATHWAYS TO PROFIT, launched to an excellent response in 2008, is being brought to five markets – Orlando, Philadelphia, Denver, Milwaukee and the New York Metro Area – while the wellreceived PROFITABLE SHOWROOM DESIGN seminar series will continue its successful run in three new markets – Charlotte, Seattle and St. Louis. Both programs, co-produced by KBDN and the NKBA, are led by well known design authority Ellen Cheever, CMKBD, ASID, and provide practical, in-depth strategies for generating additional revenue, and increasing profits, through the use of trend analysis, creative design techniques, product applications, visual merchandising and showroom management.
In addition, the well-received MANAGING TO PROSPER IN TODAY’S CHALLENGING ECONOMY seminar series, co-produced by KBDN and the SEN Design Group, will be led by respected educators and consultants Ken Peterson, CKD, and Tom Blau. This program – scheduled to take place in the New York and Milwaukee metro areas – focuses on utilizing sound management strategies, marketing techniques and business tools to improve the financial performance of kitchen and bath retail firms in a less-thanideal business climate.
Ellen Cheever, CMKBD, ASID. Peterson became a director of the NKBA in 1972, and its national president in 1980-1981. In the early 1990s, he served as an industry consultant, trainer, conference speaker, author and trade magazine columnist before launching the industry’s first buying group in 1994. Tom Blau. Tom Blau started his career in the plumbing industry in 1974, and attended Marquette University’s school of Engineering.
